Saiyame stirred awake and her ear twitched at a rustle in the woods. It was
still dark, so she knew she hadn't slept long, but she hissed lightly in
displeasure and the unpleasant aura surrounding the place. She cast her eyes
about the silent campsite warily, searching for Spring's dark aura in
particular.
He's either an idiot or an evil idiot.,
Ankoku snorted, barging into Saiyame's mind unannounced. Come now, Ryuujin no Saiyame, can't I just kill
him?
Don't call me that! And until we can be sure of
his intentions, no, you cannot kill him.
Ankoku hmphed and left as abruptly as he had come, leaving Saiyame with more on
her mind than she would have liked.
Ryuujin no Saiyame, huh? Of the Dragon God?
Ankoku must be mistaking me with Braeden-san again.
Saiyame wolfed down her food and trotted off to scout the area a bit more
thoroughly, sending a quick telepathic message to her companions to let them
know what she was doing.
Saiyame sniffed the air as she went and wagged her tails in the nice breeze.
I smell dogs...what disgusting
creatures...
After deciding that the area was safe enough for the night, Saiyame returned to
camp and transformed back into her usual form.
"We should take advantage of this break and rest while we can,"
Saiyame advised the group. "It would not do to sleep past sunrise."
((I may be an official adult now, but I bought a new pair of roller blades
today! <3 Oooh, I read Harry Potter over the weekend. 'Twas good.))
Saiyame nodded her agreement, thankful that Kayne was such a reliable companion.
Without further ado she led the way to the cluster of trees and set about
catching fish. Her sharp ears could pick out the splash of a creature quite
precisely, and she soon had a nice small pile of the slimy things ready to be
cooked.
"If you don't mind, I'll be taking my portion a little ways off,"
Saiyame stated flatly. Without even waiting for a proper response the demon
transformed and picked up two raw fish in her maw. Then she trotted off behind a
tree to eat.
-------------------------
"Is it morning yet?" Ryuei asked impatiently.
One of his newer minions shook his head no and replied timidly; "It is
just after nightfall, my lord."
"Damn," Ryuei cursed. "That's what I thought." He settled
back in his throne much like a scolded child might do, and began blowing at the
bangs hanging low over his eyes.
((Thanks I guess we could just pretend the others went their separate ways?
If they show back up then they can do whatever...For the sake of time I'm going
to fast forward the storyline a little bit. Let's just say we're nearly to the
castle now, and there have been a few random attacks here and there, but nothing
serious, ok?))
Saiyame raised her blank eyes to the sky and flinched at a nearby rumble.
A storm is coming...we should take shelter.
You know, Saiyame, I've known you for centuries
and I still can't believe you're afraid of thunder!
Shut it, Ankoku.
I mean seriously! You use lightning-based
attacks!
Ankoku, I will banish you from my mind if you
don't shut up.
Pfft, you couldn't live without me. But I get
it, I'll be quiet now.
Thank you.
Saiyame returned to reality, smiling tentatively at her two companions.
"Ok, I think we should take shelter for the night and advance on the castle
in the morning, ne?"
There was a convenient copse of trees nearby that would provide nice shelter
from the rain, as well as a small pond where they could wash up and possibly
catch some fish.
-----------------------------------
"So, I figure they'll be here by morning, don't you?"
"Yes, Ryuei-sama."
"Good. Let's be sure to send them a nice welcoming present. At the first
sign of light release the hounds, that ought to get them moving in the
morning."
Hiya, welcome! Meh, I'm into guys myself (I'm a girl), but there's nothing wrong
with that!
Hope you have fun here, I've seen most of Kannazuki no Miko, and it's an ok
show...I'm more into total action and lots of blood kinda shows myself.
(Yeah, they're dead. I'm kinda waiting to see if anyone else is going to post or
not...o.O It seems to me that the storyline's going okayish, but if anyone has
any suggestions or anything you can message me on here or email/IM me at
Shadowmancer1989@aol.com, or silver_dragon1989@hotmail.com.)
((In case anyone didn't get the whole sneezing thing, it's playing on the whole
"when you sneeze it means someone is talking about you" in Japan
theory ^^))
Saiyame frowned at Spring's words.
"He may be lazy, but he is not one to be taken lightly. After all, I am
blind and I am strong enough to be a serious threat to most who cross my
path."
Yeah, but you're also ancient.
Shut up, Anko-kun.
"Just because Ryuei-san is lazy does not make him an easy target. We must
always remain cautious and never underestimate the enemy. Kayne-san, you're
probably right though. I bet Lord Ryuei really is a brat."
--------------------------------
Ryuei sneezed, much like Saiyame had done only moments before.
Saiyame cocked an eyebrow at the argument going on in front of her.
"Actually," she said, "I have heard that the lord Ryuei is quite
strong and very much able to take care of himself. However, he is quite lazy and
only enjoys shedding the blood of those who are able to his fortress. I believe
that these coming tests will only serve as slight entertainment for him, but
more as a delay for us. He doesn't want to fight before he's ready, so he will
slow us down to suit his own needs."
That made absolutely no sense
whatsoever.
Oh shut up, you know I've never been good at
explaining things. I only meant that Ryuei wants to stall us, but not
necessarily test our combined strength. All he really wants to do is prolong our
fight, because he's lazy.
Then why didn't you just say
that?
Shut up.
------------------------------------
"Bingo, bingo, you win the prize! My, that fox demoness is quite
perceptive, isn't she?"
"She's psychic, not perceptive, Ryuei-sama."
"Hmm...maybe she's both...Still, she's quite a looker, it'll be fun to kill
her when she gets here. Ooh, but they all look quite appetizing...perhaps
they'll all be equally entertaining."
------------------------------------
"Achoo!" Saiyame covered her mouh and blinked in surprise.
(Yay! I was soooo bored with no one doing anything on here. I start work
tomorrow so I might be on a little less, but I won't neglect this storyline!
*.*)
Saiyame applauded the efforts of her new friend and smiled cheerfully.
"My, they certainly want us to hurry, ne? Or is it that the Lord of
Darkness really thought a few bugs could harm us?"
A few straggling insects attempted to retreat, but Saiyame crushed them without
hesitation or thought.
Anko-kun, do you think they're mocking
us?
I'm not sure, but if they are then they better
be prepared flee when we arrive because I will not hold back.
Saiyame, being who she was, was not the type to smirk. However, Ankoku had no
reason to hold back a giant grin as he watched the insects get fried, sliced,
and shot out of the sky with ease.
Maybe it's a good thing you didn't let me kill
them after all, ne Sai-chan?
Of course, you put too little faith in other
people Ankoku, that's why Hikari and I are the only ones who put up with
you.
Ankoku snorted and Saiyame snickered inwardly, levitating some fine grains of
sand and shooting them at the demonic bugs like bullets. Their numbers were
finally beginning to dwindle, but the remaining few were still making an effort
to dodge and counter attack at the same time.
You know that Ikume heard our conversation
right? Why don't you put up some barriers around your mind?
Because I have no secrets to hide, so it's
pointless to do something like that. Besides, it's not like I am going to allow
an enemy to enter my mind, so relax.
OOC: Ha, I didn't know Ikume could do that ^^ Maybe we can telepathically make
fun of Sheila (No offense Mrs. Bloomie!)
The insects were upon the group in an instant, lashing out quickly in an attempt
to bite them. Lightning crackled around Saiyame's fingers and shot a large
number down, but there were still hundreds left.
You should have come home before going on your
little journey, Lady Saiyame. Your senses are much weaker because you neglected
to get an energy boost before going off to save the world, or whatever it is
you're doing.
Ha, ha, very funny. I'll be fine without an
energy boost, Anko-kun. If an emergency arises I can just summon you to fry all
of these annoying pests before they have a chance to do any permanant damage.
For now, though, let us see how they handle themselves.
Saiyame struck more of the demons down and leapt back, wondering how her new
comrades would handle the situation.
Saiyame disguised a laugh as a cough in order to not appear rude.
Well, perhaps we will have even more help, ne
Anko-kun?
Probably. But you knew that already, didn't
you.
I'm not psychic for nothing. We should really
get moving soon, though. It would be a shame to keep the enemy
waiting.
----------------------------
"Sooo, what do you want to do, Seirei-chan?" Ryuei scratched his head,
bored.
"Nothing, my lord," Seirei answered lazily.
"Ah, just the answer I was looking for." Ryuei snapped his fingers,
summoning a servant to his side.
"Yes, Ryuei-dono. How may I be of service?"
"Send our future guests a little gift to get them moving. It would be a
shame to keep me waiting, you know how I loathe suspence."
"As you wish, my lord."
The lowly demon disappeared in the blink of an eye and solidified before a large
glass box. In the box were hundreds of overgrown mosquitoes. Or at least that's
what they looked like. One bite could immobilize even the strongest demons, and
two bites meant certain death. With an offhand flick of his wrist the box
opened, and the mosquitoes swarmed into the air, awaiting his command.
"Go, my children," the demon hissed. "Give those pathetic fools a
little incentive to get moving!"
---------------------------
Saiyame inhaled sharply and paled considerably.
Well I certainly hope the others are more
competent when it comes to dealing with small demons than I am, she
thought to herself. Othewise this could become
a bit of a problem.
As the buzzing swarm drew nearer, Saiyame concentrated as best she could,
pulling her aura around her like a protective blanket and summoning the
necessary energy to "see" the approaching demons.
You should have brought some bug spray,
Ankoku said, leaning back to watch the show. Maybe we won't really have to do anything ourselves. After all, there
are plenty of others around here, I'm sure one of them can take out a few mutant
bugs.
Ourselves? Just what have you done so far. And
I hope they are able to take out a few hundred mutant bugs because that's what's
coming our way.
Saiyame nodded appreciatively at Kayne's kind words.
"Thank you, I assure you I will do my best to prevent any casualties,
although in war death is unavoidable. I cannot guarantee anyone's safety, but I
will protect you all with my life."
Saiyame smiled at Ikume. "Thank you, Ikume-san. I will need all the help I
can get to defeat our foe. I am afraid I do not know much about him as of yet,
but the closer we get, the easier it will become for me to read his aura and his
mind. If all goes well then we should be well prepared to fight him when we
reach our destination."
Saiyame was feeling a bit more confident now that Ikume had decided to join her,
and she turned expectantly to Sheila and Kayne.
----------------------------
(Back to the bad guys)
"My lord?"
"Yes, Seirin?"
"Your shoe is on the wrong foot."
"Curses, foiled again!"
The current lord of darkness bent low to switch his shoes, seething all the
while. Despite his incredible lack of coordination and seemingly small brain,
Ryuei wasn't to be underestimated.
After all, you don't get to be the lord of darkness without doing something to make others fear you. Ryuei's
bloodlust had earned him his throne and the prospect of a fight looming on the
horizon made him shiver with anticipation.
"Perhaps I should save the little demoness and her friends the trouble of
finding me and go to them myself," Ryuei mused aloud. "But then again,
this chair is oh so soft, and if they can't defeat you then they aren't worth my
time, right Seirin-chan?"
"Of course, my lord. Do you wish for me to greet them?"
"Nah, not yet anyway. Wait until they reach the halfway point, then release
the hounds. If they survive that then feel free to slaughter them.
((For AmethystSnow: Well I guess it could, I was mostly referring to my group,
but if anyone off doing whatever wants to join in on the hunt for my unnamed bad
guy, that would be nice. After all, it's almost like 2 separate storylines now,
so some of the other people should probably try to join up together. I hope that
makes sense @.@))
(I don't want to sound mean or anything but shocking every soldier so they faint
is technically controlling springheel(ect)'s characters. Feel free to shock
them, but it's up to him how they react to the attack ^_^)
Saiyame decided to voice her thoughts, now that everyone was fairly energized.
"Kayne-san, Ikume-san, everyone else...I don't know if you've sensed it or
not, but a great darkness lurks to the east. I plan to confront this evil, head
on if I have to, and I was hoping that maybe some of you would like to join
me?"
Saiyame asked the question timidly, pressing her ears flat against her head and
letting her tail hang limp with slight embarrassment.
-----------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, in the east....
"Sir, you've been living much too freely, don't you think you should be a
bit more cautious?"
"Of course not, Seirin-chan! If anyone wishes to oppose me then let them
come! I will kill them for even thinking such insolent thoughts!"
"Even if one of them is a powerful fox demon with a posse, my
lord?"
"......Well if they get too close then perhaps you could stall them? If I
will have to move from this comfy chair in order to destroy those pests, then I
would like to prolong that moment as much as possible.
"As you wish, sir."
OOC: Holy crap, I can't believe how lame that was! Sorry for the lameness, my
neighbor's dog wouldn't shut up so I didn't get much sleep....on a brighter side
my mom gave me $200 for graduation and my b-day's in a couple weeks ^^
Saiyame stirred awake and her ear twitched at a rustle in the woods. It was still dark, so she knew she hadn't slept long, but she hissed lightly in displeasure and the unpleasant aura surrounding the place. Ryuujin no Saiyame, huh? Of the Dragon God? Ankoku must be mistaking me with Braeden-san again.
Saiyame bowed her head in thanks and closed her eyes, leaning against the trunk of a tree for support.
Soon...this pointless bloodshed will end.
I only hope you're up for the fight that's ahead, Saiyame-sama. You haven't visited Jinsei in a long while...
((Ugh, that first sentence is horrible))
Saiyame wolfed down her food and trotted off to scout the area a bit more thoroughly, sending a quick telepathic message to her companions to let them know what she was doing.
Saiyame sniffed the air as she went and wagged her tails in the nice breeze.
